The film mainly tells the story of the four masters and apprentices fighting against the white bone spirit on the way to learn from the Western Heaven.

Synopsis
On the way to the west, the four apprentices, Baigujing (Gong Li), set up a trap to capture Tang Monk (Feng Shaofeng). Sun Wukong (Guo Fucheng) saw through the trap and was repeatedly frustrated. Tang Monk mistook Monkey King for killing innocent people and expelled him from the school. Baigujing took advantage of the situation and captured Tang Monk. Hearing the news, Wukong went to rescue and completely defeated the Baigujing. The master and apprentice let go of their past grievances and set out again.
